Hi! My name is Kloi Neibert. When I was at Mizzou, I was working as a Photo Intern with Mizzou Athletics, where I had the opportunity to capture the energy, emotion, and stories that define college sports. That role allowed me to grow creatively, strengthen my technical skills, and fuel my passion for sports photography.
Before joining Mizzou Athletics, I served as an editor for my high school yearbook, where I photographed a wide variety of events: from pep rallies and Friday night football games to athletic signing days and spirit weeks. That experience strengthened my storytelling abilities, sharpened my technical skills, and deepened my love for sports photography.
I’m highly motivated, adaptable, and dedicated to producing high-quality, meaningful work that captures the true spirit of every athlete and moment.
Why did I choose sports photography?
Growing up immersed in the world of competitive sports, from the local little league to high school, I've learned invaluable lessons that extend far beyond the playing field. I've witnessed firsthand the power of a single moment, the culmination of countless hours of practice, dedication, and teamwork. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat, the camaderie of teammates; these are fleeting instances that deserve to be preserved, not just in memory, but in a tangible form that can be revisited and shared. I've seen how a photograph can capture not just the action of the game, but the emotion, the dedication, and the stories behind the athletes, and this realization ignited a passion within me to provide athletes with tangible memories that will last a lifetime.
One of the most significant lessons sports has taught me is that everyone has a chance to shine, regardless of their role on the team. Whether you're in the starting lineup, coming off the bench, or even supporting your fellow teammates from the sidelines, every contribution is vital to the team's success. I've seen players who weren't necessarily the most talented find their own unique ways to contribute. This understanding shaped my perspective on sports photography, and I believe it's crucial to capture not just the star players, but also the unsung heroes, the individuals who contribute to the team's success in ways that might not always be apparent on the scoreboard. I want to tell their stories too, and showcase the diverse range of contributions that make a team truly great.
I also believe sports photography has the power to inspire. A powerful image can transcend the game itself, showcasing the atheletes' strength, resilience, and sportsmanship. It can provide role models for aspiring athletes and fans around the world, offering a glimpse into the dedication and perseverance required to achieve greatness. A photograph can freeze a moment of triumph, capturing the pure joy of an athlete achieving their full potential. It can also capture the moments of struggle, the grit and determination required to overcome obstacles and push beyond one's limits. These are the stories I want to tell throught my lens, giving people someone to look up to, someone to admire, and someone to by inspired by, regardless of their background or level of athletic achievement.
